چکیده

Airflow distribution in the greenhouse windows is important for us to understand the mechanism of natural ventilation and thus is helpful for designers to have the optimal ventilation system. The full-scale measurements of the airflow in a large Venlo-type greenhouse were carried out by use of an ultrasonic anemometer. The clear airflow patterns around the greenhouse under leeside ventilation were found by polar plots. The air velocity in a greenhouse central ventilator was proposed as a function of the opening angles both in leeside and windward sides.

Natural Ventilation: Analysis of Indoor Airflow in an Assumed Cubic Building with Opposite Openings by CFD Investigations

The natural ventilation is an easy way to exchange the indoor polluted warm air with outdoor fresh air. The wind power injects outdoor fresh air into the building. A good indoor air current and subsequently a proper exhaust depend on the openings’ conditions and their situations. A serious architectural question is under what conditions of the openings the wind-cross ventilation can be effectiv...

Experimental and Theoretical Case Study on Cross Ventilation

Natural ventilation through windows and other openings in the building envelope is still the most common way to ensure the necessary fresh air supply in buildings. To date, there are few validated models for the calculation of ventilation rates through large openings. In particular, there is a lack of information about natural cross-ventilation. On the basis of an empirical study a mathematical...

A Networked Two-Dimensional Sonic Anemometer System for the Measurement of Air Velocity in Greenhouses

The experimental study of air movement induced by natural ventilation in greenhouses requires a system to measure the air velocity "eld. A networked, two-dimensional sonic anemometer system was developed for simultaneous measurement of the instantaneous air speed and direction at 12 locations. The system performance was tested and validated against a mass #ow controller and a commercial, three-...

Effects of obstructions, sample size and sample rate on ultrasonic anemometer measurements underground

In fluctuating airflow, continuous air velocity recording is the most reliable method of air velocity measurement. It allows for fast recognition of changes and the calculation of long-term averages. Also, it enables the mine operator to identify when the airflow has decreased to a point requiring action. Using ultrasonic anemometers provides an accurate option for continuous air velocity monit...

Airflow Process Across Vertical Vents Induced by Stack- Driven Effect with an Opposing Flow in one of the Upper Openings

Natural ventilation of building provides improvement of internal comfort and air quality conditions leading to a significant reduction of cooling energy consumption. Design of natural ventilation systems for many types of building is based on buoyancy forces. However, external wind flow can have significant effects on buoyancydriven natural ventilation. Airflow process across vertical vents ind...
